Man Doing Push Up

Over winter the last thing you want to do when waking up in the cold is jump into a fitness regime. This winter (just coming to an end in NZ) I pretty much hibernated apart from snowboarding which isn’t exactly a walk in the park.

What are you thinking then? . "I'm petrified but lock me in!" . #TheRemarkables #Snowboarding #Queenstown #BigAirBag #Snowboard #Kicker #Jump

However with summer now on the way and no snow left on the mountains it was time to break the routine so I came up with the following and simple strategy.

“Push ups every day, and at least one more than the prior day, except where I’ve done at least 30 mins of exercise elsewhere e.g swimming/surfing etc.”

Following this simple strategy, I’ve gone from incidental exercise to a 2 week streak of daily exercise including cycling and swimming or at least 50 push ups a day (started at 10).

Not a bad start, now just hoping to have it stick with the help of streaks to help guilt me into sticking to it 😉

Note: Whilst it was tempting to double the number I do every time or something silly I’m far too aware of the exponential implications and I can highly recommend the linked book if you’re interested in business.
